New York University Scholarships 2018
New York University was founded in 1831 in New York City. Prominent NYC residents funded the school. It quickly grew to be one of the United State’s largest universities at the time. The Manhattan campus is 230 acres across. Now, New York University scholarships are given to international students!
There are nearly 10,000 faculty members, with half being full time professors. There is only 2000 administrative staff on campus. 17,000 of 50,000 total students are from 140 countries across the globe. NYU has the highest percentage of international students enrolled out of any other US college, and the college sends more students abroad than any other school in the United States.
On campus, there are almost two dozen schools, with the Arts and Science subdivision being the largest of 3 main parts. A fraction of what the school offers covers dentistry, law, engineering, social work, nursing, and ancient world study. NYU also has two other campuses located in Shanghai and Abu Dhabi. 40 areas of study are offered at these international campuses. The Manhattan campus has its own theatre, box office, and art galleries. New York University has its own TV channel run by students. Athletics are another large part of life at the University.
The University’s Endowment assets total $3.6 billion. This money provides scholarships, expansions and improvements to the international and domestic campuses, and funds many research opportunities. It is overseen by a financial board. Some of this endowment is used as New York University scholarships for international students!
NYU’s alumni consist of many award-winning entertainers, high profile politicians, doctors, writers, and musicians, among others. Over 30 Nobel Laureates attended NYU. There have also been 20 Pulitzer Prize winners to have graduated from the University. New York University’s success contributes to the later success of its alumni, with just over half of graduates receiving a job offer after graduating. The school continues to succeed through innovative work and research.
