Best Thailand Scholarships

1. Mahidol Postgraduate Scholarships for International Students

  • Scholarship Link
  • Scholarship Amount: Type 1: Full Scholarship – covers tuition fees, research costs, and living allowance. Type 2: Partial Scholarship covers 50% of tuition fees, research costs, and others.
  • Eligible Degree: Graduate programs and Doctorate degrees

The Mahidol University provides financial assistance to international graduate and doctorate students with excellent academic records. This scholarship aims to grow the number of students taking up graduate and doctoral studies. The university provides a list of programs participating in this scholarship. There are two types of Thailand scholarships that students can get: partial or full scholarships. To be eligible for the full scholarship, you need to have a bachelor’s degree for the incoming graduate students and a master’s degree for the incoming doctorate students, proof of English proficiency – IELTS, TOEFL, or other English examinations, meeting the minimum scores. Additional requirements (age, thesis, and other conditions) can be found on their website.

You can choose what type of scholarship to apply for. You can apply for this scholarship through your program, and they will nominate you to the department. The faculty of Graduate Studies will be the one to review the applications and select the recipents.

2. TIPP Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: A monthly living allowance of 7,000 Baht, an accommodation allowance of 7,000 – 9,000 Baht. Tuition fees will be reimbursed, and other expenses in thesis, travel and books will be covered.
  • Eligible Degree: Graduate Studies

The Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) offers the Thailand International Postgraduate Programme (TIPP) for international students who want to take graduate programs in Thailand. Applicants for this scholarship in Thailand must be nominated by the National Focal Point for International Development Cooperation from the participating countries. Relevant experience and education are needed, and you need to present proof of English language proficiency.

International students can start their application on the website. The forms to be filled up and other documents needed are stated there. Usually, they will require you to present previous academic transcripts, medical records, recommendation letters, and others. Your country’s National Focal Point for International Development Cooperation will process and deliver to TICA for assessment and selection.

3. PSU-Med ISG Scholarships

  • Scholarship Amount: A monthly stipend of 10,000 Baht, tuition fee, travel, and health expenses.
  • Eligible Degree: Graduate and Ph.D. degrees

The Prince of Songkla University (PSU) awards international students taking up graduate and Ph.D. programs in medicine. The university’s faculty of Medicine recognizes excellent international students as they continuously create and produce high-quality researches. They select one recipient per program, and this scholarship covers the 2-years in the graduate program and three years for the Ph.D. programs.

To qualify for this Thailand scholarship, you need to be an incoming graduate or doctoral student at PSU, having an excellent academic and research record. Additionally, proof of English language proficiency is required, and they accept results from TOEFL and IELTS. Other requirements can be found on their website.

You can directly apply to their website and upload the documents. Please take note that incomplete applications would be rejected. After the selection, successful applicants will be posted on the university’s official website.

4. Chulalongkorn University Scholarships for International Students

  • Scholarship Link
  • Scholarship Amount: Full coverage of tuition fee and monthly allowance. Transportation, accommodation, and education will also be covered.
  • Eligible Degree: Graduate studies and Ph.D. degrees

International students in Chulalongkorn university can apply for a scholarship funded by this Thailand university. Applicants must be currently studying program in graduate and Ph.D. degrees. To qualify for this scholarship, students must obtain a specific grade average, mandated by the university. They must be a full-time student in the university, and Ph.D. students must be working as teaching assistants in the department.

There are different kinds of scholarships offered for international students, but applying for each scholarship is almost the same. As for the requirements, they’ll require you to submit a copy of your transcript, certificates, proof of English language proficiency, and other documents. The scholarship committee will notify the successful applicants.

5. Petchra Pra Jom Klao Scholarships

  • Scholarship Amount: Tuition fee exemption, monthly allowance, and material and research allowance. The specific amount depends on the degree of the student.
  • Eligible Degree: Undergraduate, graduate studies, and Ph.D. degrees

The King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) offers Petchra Pra Jom Klao scholarships to undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate international students. Through this scholarship at Thailand, these students continue their studies in their respective programs in Thailand. It recognizes students who excel academically. Yearly, they award 44 undergraduate international students, 68 graduate students, and 60 doctorate students.

This scholarship is a competitive one as the university requires a specific GPA in each degree. Usually, they are looking for international students who have high honors in their previous degrees and institutions.
