Ogden Honors College

Louisiana State University offers Ogden Honors College Program to students who have a 3.5 GPA and 30 ACT or 1330 SAT. The perks of joining the honors college are priority registration, honors classes, undergraduate research with senior thesis, honors dormitory, and honors-only merit scholarship.

 

Coastal Environmental Science

Louisiana State University has a strong coastal environmental science program partially because of its location close to the shore. The student-faculty ratio of this major is 3:1 which is extremely small and allows an active interaction between students and the faculty. Because of its student-faculty ratio, this major is research-oriented with professors encouraging undergraduate students to research with them. Also, Louisiana State University has several research facilities including Coastal Marine Institute, Earth Scan Laboratory, and Human and Environmental Toxicology Laboratory.

Flagship Scholars Award– Students who receive 1490 Sat or 33 ACT and 3.0 GPA will receive $20,500 per year.

Engineering and Business Major Award– This is not an automatic scholarship, but students who are eligible to receive Flagship Scholars Award will definitely be eligible for this award. Amount varies, but combination of Flagship Scholars Award and departmental award will cover more than tuition in most cases.

Ogden Honors-only Scholarship– There are numerous scholarships that only students in honors college are qualified for. The amount varies with each scholarship, but the award amount are significant.

If you qualify for all three of these scholarships, the total scholarship amount will cover most of the cost of attendance (tuition, room, and board). If you have a high standardized scores, you should definitely contact LSU’s office of admissions for more scholarship information.
