Kyung Hee University

Kyung Hee University is a well-known university in South Korea. Founded in 1949, it is one of the oldest universities in Korea. This university is ranked 2nd in the National Customer Satisfaction Index measured by Korea Productivity Center. This index measures the productivity of different universities in Korea. Also, it is ranked 38th in Asia and 295th in the world according to QS Asian and World University Rankings.

Although it was very small when it first started, Kyung Hee University has over 31,000 students which include approximately 24,000 undergraduate students, 7,000 master’s  students, and 1,605 graduate students. Also, it has approximately 3,000 academic staff which includes faculty and advisers.

This university is excellent in many different areas. Many universities, however, are known for a specific academic field. In Kyung Hee University, that field is the field of medicine, especially in the medical research. It has its own hospital where 266 faculty and over 2,500 staff members work. Founded in 1971, this hospital was the first hospital in the world to combine Eastern and Western medicinal practices to effectively cure diseases. Attending a university with a great hospital is a great news to medical students or even chemistry or biology students who want to pursue a medical field in the future. The hospital provides those students with internship opportunities and research opportunities which are important in their future.

For graduate students, there are more English courses available than undergraduate students. In fact, you probably do not need to know Korean for most majors. However, it is recommended that you would learn Korea to communicate better with the Korean counterparts and follow classes.

Second, Kyung Hee University provides wonderful scholarships to international students. This will help international students who are needy to be able to study in a very high ranked university.
