howon university

Howon University is a private university that is located in Gunsan, Korea. Founded in 1977, its name was originally Gunsan Industrial College. When it grew and included many different academic fields, it became Howon University in 1998. Now, it has 7,500 students who are taught by 600 professors. This university is known to be one of the best universities with the highest employment rate after graduation. In 2013, the Ministry of Education acknowledged that Howon University is one of the universities with the highest employment rate, and in 2014, it was the second university with the highest employment rate.

This institution is famous for its Applied School of Music which has produced many popular singers in Korea. Popular singers include Baek A-Yeon, Cha Hak-Yeon, and Lee Chang-sub. The acceptance rate of this school is very low because of harsh competition. It is less than 1 percent, and only the best singers are accepted into this school.

The motto of Howon University is “spirit of values, independence, and fidelity.” Also, this university’s goal is to foster “Howon Culture” which focuses on big things such as the needs of the global community and also small things such as decorating its beautiful campus. With this culture and global vision, It desires to become one of the best universities in Korea. In order to do that, it has to recruit international students to have a more diverse student body which boosts the rankings.

The unique thing about Howon University is that it only accepts bachelor students. That enables it to be more focused on undergraduate students only which has great benefits. The advantages of having only undergraduate students can be seen with the high employment rate of the university.

Rankings

Howon University is ranked in the middle by many ranking agencies. For example, 4ICU ranked it to be 135th in Korea, and the Ranking Web of Universities ranked it to be 159th in Korea. These rankings might not seem impressive, but taking into fact that there are thousands of certified universities in Korea, it is still better than most universities in Korea.

Tuition

As stated earlier, Howon University only accepts undergraduate students. The tuition fee for undergraduate students is $8,000 per year which differs based on the field of study.

Admissions

Howon University has made it easy for international students to apply to their universities. They have provided admission guides so that international students can read the guide and apply for admissions. Howon University Scholarships

Unfortunately, there are no clear guidelines regarding scholarships in this excellent university. However, most Korean universities offer scholarships to international students, so I would assume that Howon University does the same.
