The University of Southern California was founded in 1880, making it the oldest research university in California. Ozro Childs, John Gately Downey, and Isaias W. Hellman donated 308 plots of land in Los Angeles for the campus. Originally the school partnered with the Methodist Church, although this is no longer true today. The campus spans 308 acres. University of Southern California scholarships are being offered to international students as well as domestic students.
