5 Universities in Australia Without Application Fees

Choosing the right university for you can be tough, and a lot of the time, you end up applying to multiple universities either because you can’t decide which one you like best right off the bat or because you want to have backups in case the one you want to get into doesn’t end up accepting you. Either way, it can be rather discouraging when you go to apply somewhere only to find that they require an application fee. Especially if you are applying to multiple schools.

Not every school out there requires an application fee though, and in this article, I’m going to tell you about five universities in Australia that don’t have application fees.

Universities in Australia with Free Applications

1. Bond University

First up is Bond University. This university is unique because rather than having just two semesters with a long summer break in between them, they offer three back to back semesters that accept newly enrolling students in the months of January, May, and September. This is great if you are looking for a way to earn your degree as quickly as possible. If you were to attend full time all three semesters for two years, you’d have enough credits to fulfill a bachelor’s degree.

This is a university that is very eager to help its students succeed not just at school, but beyond it as well. They offer a program called Beyond Bond that helps you gain experience through things like internships, volunteering programs, study tours, and more to prepare you for a career in the field you are studying. This way, by the time you graduate, you will already have a leg up.

Despite their hard working ethics, Bond also offers a variety of extra-curricular activities for students to enjoy when they aren’t studying such as sports, free concerts, barbeques, and more.

So if you want to apply in one of the Australian universities without application fees, consider Bond University!

2. Charles Darwin University

Charles Darwin University is a great option if you’re looking to get your degree online. They offer over one hundred online courses in areas of study like education, engineering, social sciences, accounting, and much more. The wide variety of online courses that they offer give you the flexibility to fulfill a degree when you want and where you want. They do also have four campuses and training centers for those of you who do not wish to take online classes. Since they do not have an application fee, why not apply?

This school has been around since the 1950s and is the only university based in the Northern Territory. Because of this, the school has a strong relationship with and respect for the Indigenous people whose lands they operate on. They take pride in the rich culture that has helped make the school what it is today and welcome over 680 students from 55 different countries around the world, making this school very culturally diverse.

This school is also staffed with hard working, highly qualified staff members, nearly 40% of them having a PhD. Whether you take online courses or attend classes at one of their several campuses and training centers, you can feel confident that your professor is knowledgeable in whatever subject they are teaching and more than qualified to teach it.

3. University of South Australia

One of the Australian universities without application fees is University of South Australia. This university is southern Australia’s number one university for graduate careers. They offer a wide range of areas of study and have a total of six campuses throughout the state, each with their own library, lecture halls, and laboratories.

Despite how large this school is, they aim to make it feel like a community by offering things like events, clubs, sport, and places to hang out around campus. This is a great option if you are looking for more of a traditional university experience at a large school with plenty of organizations to help you meet new people and make new friends.

This university also offers world class research in themes such as cancer, transforming industries, and healthy futures. They are a cut above the rest when it comes to research, so if you are interested in doing research studies or getting a degree in research, this school is a great choice.

4. The University of Notre Dame Australia

The University of Notre Dame Australia is a Catholic university that embraces Catholic traditions practiced in Europe and Northern America. Although they are a Catholic university, this school accepts and welcomes students of all, or even no, religious beliefs. This school is dedicated to helping each student both in school and beyond by recognizing and respecting that each student is unique and so are their academic strengths.

All of the degrees offered at this school require students to take Core Curriculum classes in the following subjects: Philosophy, Theology, and Ethics. These classes are required because Notre Dame believes that higher education should not only help students to secure a career when they graduate but should also enrich their lives in every aspect of them, not just professionally. They want to prepare students for life post-graduation, not just for jobs. This Core Curriculum and genuine interest in enhancing students’ lives makes this school unique from a lot of others.

5. University of Wollongong Australia

Similar to University of South Australia, University of Wollongong Australia is a research-intensive university. Also, they are one of the few universities in Australia with free application. They take pride in their reputable learning environments, ambitious drive, and successful graduates and are also recognized as one of the top 250 universities in the entire world.

This university started out as the New South Wales University of Technology before it became known as the University of Wollongong. While they still train engineers and metallurgists, they have also expanded their programs so that artists, educators, and entrepreneurs have a place there too.

Their rich history in technology and engineering has carried through to the modern-day time and, in fact, has expanded greatly. They now have facilities that research things such as 3D bioprinting, medicinal chemistry, and global challenges. They put in lots of hard work to build a more sustainable and equitable future for today’s society.

All five of these schools have fairly simple application processes, none of which include any application fees. They give all applicants a fair and equal chance when reviewing their applications and take the time to consider each application carefully. With such a diverse list of schools, hopefully, you’ll be able to find one that best suits you.
