Starting out as the Agricultural College of Utah in 1888, Utah State University is a university system with a 400-acre main campus located in Logan, seated near Logan Canyon. The land-grant and space-grant institution was founded through the Morrill Land-Grant Colleges Act and flourished to be one of Utah’s prime universities. In this article, we will be looking at the acceptance rate at Utah State University.

Utah State University Eastern, formerly the College of Eastern Utah, was absorbed in 2010. USU has regional campuses throughout the state, including USU Birmingham City, USU Moab, USU Tooele, and USU Uintah Basin. Its main campus in Logan houses the Old Main, which is known as the oldest functioning building in the state; the Merril-Cazier Library; Manon Caine Russell Kathryn Caine Wanlass Performance Hall, a concert hall known for its acoustics; and Chase Fine Arts Center which hosts exhibitions and concerts, Logan City Cemetery runs through the campus as well, while the nearby Logan Canyon is a popular area for recreational and outdoor activities, which is also close to Beaver Mountain Ski Resort and Bear Lake. One of the popular attractions in Utah State University’s main campus is the Aggie Ice Cream. USU’s creamery, which has been operating since 1888, is popular for its dairy products like ice cream and cheese. Some popular brands take their roots from Utah State University, such as Casper’s Ice Cream and Snelgrove’s Ice Cream.

Utah State University is also known for its fascinating traditions as kissing is observed as an important rite of passage. Students in Utah State University can only be dubbed as “True Aggie” when a student kisses a current “True Aggie” at midnight during a full moon or receives a kiss atop an “A” block near the Old Main. The “Meet the Challenge” statue is another long-standing tradition in Utah State University, as students attempt to climb and ride the bull as a “ritual” to become an “Ultimate Aggie” in the university.

Some known individuals who have attended the Utah State University include politician Harry Reid, poet, and writer Mary Swenson, football player Tony Adams, and actor Steven Ford.

The Utah State Aggies and its 16 sports teams represent the university in the NCAA Division I Mountain West Conference. Big Blue, Utah State University’s official mascot since 1975, was originally a white bull.

Although Utah State University was originally an agricultural college, it has become popular for its major and degrees in economics and computer science, as well as studies in communicative disorders and deaf education and psychology. Tuition fees range from $7,000 to $20,000 annually, with annual expenses averaging at $33,000.

Niche reports an acceptance rate of 89% from over 15,500 applicants at Utah State University. Accepted students have an average SAT score of 1010 to 1230 out of 1660, while ACT scores range from 21 to 27. Students who wish to attend Utah State University have to settle a $50 application fee prior to the entrance examinations.
