Quest University (officially known as Quest University Canada) is a private liberal arts and sciences university in Squamish, British Columbia, Canada. The university was founded in 2007 by David Strangway, world-known Canadian geophysicist and former President Emeritus of the University of Toronto and the University of British Columbia. Currently, the university is run by president George Iwama and Chancellor Peter Webster. Quest University currently houses approximately 600 students and has been home to over 700 alumni. Students at the university are able to obtain one degree, the bachelor of Arts and Sciences, which allows them to build a strong base with the Block Plan. After the Block Plan students are given freedom to specialize and explore the flexibility at Quest to build their own multidisciplinary path by taking 16 courses in the third and fourth year of the bachelor. Quest University Scholarships
The university offers several scholarships to all of its students who are promising to make extraordinary contributions to Quest University. International students are eligible for the Presential Scholarships, which are rewarded to students who have shown their outstanding academic abilities before applying to Quest University but also their talents in leadership and motivation to contribute to society. Therefore, students are encouraged to not only include proof of their academic performances in their application, but also other supporting documents that show they possess these important skills. Reference letters can significantly raise chances to be eligible for this scholarship. The Presidential Scholarships offer students between CND$ 2,000 and CND$ 8,000.
The Leaders in Elite Athletics and Performance (LEAP) programmes are available to candidates who are not only interested in pursuing their academic career, but also value their growth in athletics and performing arts. Full programme details that further explain requirements for this scholarship are available on Quest University’s website. Students who are awarded with this scholarship will be gifted CND$ 5,000. Students must be held to the requirements of the programmes for the entirety that they are awarded the scholarship.
International students are also able to apply for bursaries at Quest University. Students must apply on SquareOne. The priority deadline for these applications is March 1st, students who apply after this date are still eligible for a bursary but are not guaranteed approval. Students must provide personal information from both themselves as their parents or legal guardians. It is important to make sure all currency figures on the form are converted into CND$. Bursaries are only given to those students who can sufficiently prove that all available funds they have access to will not cover tuition fees. This not only includes private funds, but also governments study aide programmes and student lines of credit.
Important information international students need to be aware of before applying to Quest University is the English language requirements at Quest University. If your native language is not English, you must provide the school the results of your Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELT). Study permits are required before attending Quest University. These study permits can take up to three months to be processed by the Canadian offices. The application process varies for all countries so it is encouraged students go through the process ahead of time to avoid unnecessary complications which may endanger their admission or scholarship at Quest University.
