1. Seoul National University

Currently, international students represent more than 10% of the total student body at Seoul National University.

2. Korea National University of Arts

Located in Seoul, Korea National University of Arts is the only national university present in South Korea dedicated to arts programs. The university was established in 1993. The sole purpose of the university is to promote the fine arts education and skills in the country. The university consists of four schools with 26 departments. They offer undergraduate and graduate degree programs in visual arts, visual communication, music, film and animation, Korean traditional arts, etc. The university also offers short-term courses and training programs for artists.

The tuition fee at the Korea National University of Arts is very low due to the national status of the university. Only a small number of international students are selected each year for admission to this university. And they pay the same fee as local students.

3. Seoul National University of Science and Technology

Seoul National University of Science and Technology (also known as Seoul Tech) is one of the most prestigious universities located in South Korea. The university was established as a school in 1910. It was reorganized in its present form in 2010. As of now, the university falls in the category of general universities having six schools and 23 departments. It currently offers programs in liberal arts, applied sciences, engineering, biotechnology, law, etc. It is best known for its engineering programs, especially mechanical engineering.

The university not only attracts students from South Korea but also from other countries of the world because of the cheap tuition rates. 4. University of Seoul

The next university on our list is the University of Seoul.  It is a public research university present in Seoul. The university was established in 1918 as an agriculture college and changed its status to a university in 1997. It is included in the top universities in South Korea and Asia.

The university comprises 9 colleges and a graduate school that offers a wide array of degree programs in more than 100 disciplines. However, it does not offer programs in medicine. It is best known for providing excellent programs in the engineering field, particularly, environmental engineering.

The university, famous for its research in environmental engineering attracts international learners to join the engineering programs at the university. It even attracts more students because the school does not impose high tuition fees, rather it maintains its cheap academic fees compared to other universities in the city.

5. Korea University

Located in Seoul, Korea University is a private research university with a very good reputation. The university was established in 1905 and is considered one of the oldest universities in South Korea. The university is divided into 19 colleges consisting of 81 departments that offer undergraduate programs in various disciplines. It currently has about 18 graduate schools. It is famous for delivering outstanding programs in law and foreign languages.

International students are welcome to apply to Korea University. Although it is a private university, Korea University provides affordable tuition compared to other international universities with similar academic standing and reputations.

6. Chugye University for the Arts

Chugye University for the Arts is a public arts university located in Seoul, established in 1974. The university has three schools; School of Fine Arts, School of Music, and School of Literature. The School of Fine Arts is famous for providing top-class education throughout the country.

The school aims to become a global university. It warmly welcomes international students to its campus. With heavy promotions and affordable tuition, the international student body increases every year.

7. Yonsei University

Yonsei University is among the best private research universities in the city. It was established in 1885 and is regarded as one of the ancient universities in South Korea. The university offers the best undergraduate and graduate programs in engineering, arts, medicine, nursing, philosophy, and law. The cost of studying at Yonsei is comparable to the national universities which are a lot cheaper compared to private institutions.
