3. University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW) is a biomedical research and medical school in Dallas, Texas. It trains an average of 3,700 students, residents, and postdoctoral fellows each year. The institution aims to provide patient care, conduct research, and educate leaders in biomedical science, patient care, and disease prevention. 

The medical school began during World War II to promote medical research and education within the region through the leadership of Karl Hoblitzelle and Dr. Edward H. Cary. It became an affiliate of the University of Texas system in 1949 under the name of Southwestern Medical School of The University of Texas. It changed its name quite a several times until the UT System Board of Regents approved its current name in October 1987.

4. University of Texas – Dallas

The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) is a government-funded research university with one-third of its campus in Dallas County. It began in 1961 as the Graduate Research Center of the Southwest. It became a research division of Texas Instruments and changed its name to Southwest Center for Advanced Studies. However, the founders bequeathed it to the state of Texas and renamed it to The University of Texas at Dallas.

This cheap university in Dallas was famous for its competitive undergraduate admission policies and rapid growth in research. The Carnegie Foundation classified it as a doctoral research institution with “Highest Research Activity.” The university has four Nobel Prize winners and members of the National Academy of Engineering and the National Academy of Science. Research projects include Cybersecurity, Space Science, Nanotechnology, Bioengineering, and Behavioral and Brain Sciences.

Dallas Baptist University (DBU) used to be Dallas Baptist College and is a Christian academic institution with campuses in Dallas, Hurst, and Plano. This cheap university in Dallas began in 1898 as Decatur Baptist College with a mission to change student lives so they can transform the world for God’s glory. It provides various educational opportunities for undergraduate, graduate, as well as certificate and continuing education programs.

Decatur Baptist College used to be the first junior college in Texas and produced graduates for hospitals, churches, classrooms, and businesses in the US. It relocated to southwest Dallas in 1965 and began offering four-year courses. Eventually, it became Dallas Baptist University as it started offering graduate degrees.
