International Students at University of British Columbia
With the two campuses combined, the total number of students in the university is about 66,512. Out of the total, 18,283 students are international students from 166 countries. On the two campuses, there are 16,098 international students in Vancouver Campus and 2,185 international students in Okanagan Campus. Tuition Fee at the University of British Columbia for International Students
The International Student Tuition Amounts for Undergraduates ranges from $37,460.86 to $50,838.74. The amount per credit is between $1,101.79 and $1,706.88, depending on the course applied for. Programs that are less than $40,000 are Arts, Environmental Design, Fine Arts, Media Studies, Music, Nursing, and Social Work. Programs that are more than $50,000 are Applied Science, Commerce, and Medical Laboratory Science. For continuing international students, students can expect a tuition increase of 2%-5%.
For graduate students, the International Graduate Tuition Fees indicates the master’s tuition fees and doctoral tuition fees. Most graduate programs are divided into three equal instalments separated in September, January and May. The lowest cost of tuition for a master’s degree for international students is $3,258.28 per instalment and the highest is $20,815.41 per instalment. For a doctoral degree, the lowest cost of tuition for international students is $2,894.51 per instalment and the highest is $15,526.54 per instalment.

Application Fee at the University of British Columbia
It is typically $120.75 for non-Canadian citizens who are on a study permit. It depends on the program you are applying for as some programs ask for a supplemental application fee as well. For example, the application fee for a Law program costs $95.00, Music costs a supplemental fee of $71.75, and Land and Food Systems costs $60.00. The application fee is valid for only a year and cannot be refunded. However, if you are an international student coming from one of the world’s 50 least developed countries, the application can be waived. For graduate programs, it costs $168.25 for all graduate programs on a study permit (except master’s-level Business programs). Other programs require a supplemental fee such as Landscape Architecture which has a supplemental application fee for Master of Landscape Architecture for $71.75 and an application fee of $151.25 for Master of Health Administration. Aside from the application fee, there are additional administrative and document fees.
Admissions Requirements at the University of British Columbia for International Students
If you are applying for an undergraduate program at UBC, the admission requirements vary according to nationality, campus and type of applicant. If you are a high school graduate, check the international high school applicant requirements here. Choose a campus, either Vancouver or Okanagan campus, choose your location and then choose a degree. Afterwhich, the English language requirement, general admission requirements, and degree-specific requirements are shown. For example, if you are from Singapore applying for the course Applied Biology, you must meet an English language requirement according to their English Language Admission Standard, be a graduate from a university-preparatory program at a senior secondary school, obtain an H2 level in Math and an ordinary level in two of Chemistry, Physics and Biology. University of British Columbia Scholarships for International Students
1. International Major Entrance Scholarship (IMES)

- Scholarship Amount: about CAD 40,000 total, or CAD 10,000/year for four years
International students with excellent marks are granted the International Major Entrance Scholarship (IMES) which is renewable for three years. 2. Outstanding International Student Award (OIS)

The minimum funding is given to new exceptional PhD students. Students are given a minimum funding guarantee for the first four years and can be given higher funding, depending on qualifications. 2. International Tuition Award

The International Tuition Award is given to registered full-time graduates enrolled in research-based master’s and doctoral programs. There is no need to apply for this scholarship as this is automatically given to all international students in research-oriented programs.
