Can international students work in Malta while studying?

Malta has simplified arrangements to allow foreign students to work while studying. EU/EEA citizens have more freedom in their studies and work. Meanwhile, Non-EU/EEA students can work as long as they are enrolled in a university for longer than three months. They cannot work yet for the first 90 days while attending university, but after the said period, students can work from 15 to 20 hours a week.

Can international students stay in Malta after graduation?

International graduates can extend their stay in Malta for another three months after graduation to look for work. Their work will then be the basis for their residence permit. For non-work options, foreign nationals can stay in Malta for 90 days with a Tourist Schengen Visa. If they wish to become a resident, they will be taxed 15% on the income they bring to the country. The Ordinary Residence is only for EU citizens and renewable every five years, while the Permanent Residence is open to everyone and renewable every year.
