Calvin College is one of the most popular educational institutions in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It was founded back in 1876 as a ministerial school with just seven students. For the sake of clarity, it should be mentioned here that back then “minister” used to mean a member of the clergy, rather than the head of a government department. In this article, we will be looking at the acceptance rate at Calvin College.

In 1884, the school started accepting laymen students, trained by aspiring teachers. Then, at the beginning of the 20th century, some pre-professional courses were included in its curriculum. By 1930s, the school had evolved into a four-year college.

Now, Calvin College has about four thousand full-time students and its campus spreads on 400 acres. This is an educational institution that truly celebrates diversity – seventeen percent of its students are representatives of the U.S. ethnic minorities and twelve percent are non-US citizens.

Calvin College currently has an acceptance rate of 75%, and over eighty percent of the students who successfully complete their freshman year opt to continue their education in the same institution. More importantly, about eighty percent of all newly-admitted student successfully complete their major programs and earn degrees.

This fact is not surprising, considering the fact that each professor at Calvin College has to take care of just 13 students. Thus, the academic development of each student is carefully monitored and each receives specially-tailored advice for maximum advancement.

Recent statistics reveal that the most popular major at Calvin College is Education, followed by Engineering. Positions three and four are for Business and Nursing.

Calving College is currently the best regional college in the Midwest, and also the best college in the USA for Undergraduate Teaching. Studying at this private college is not cheap. The average tuition fee most recently announced is just under $45,000, including tuition, room, and board.

The cheapest accommodation option is renting a room at one of Calvin’s seven residence halls. Dorms have two wings, one for male students and one for females. Dorm suites have two bedrooms and are shared by four students. There is only one bathroom in each suite.

Depending on your merits, you can apply for a scholarship, which is up to $20,000, or a grant of the same amount. Overall, sixty percent of all students at Calvin College receive some kind of financial aid.

If you are planning to apply to Calvin College, it’s important to remember that you should turn in your ACT, SAT scores, and your motivation letter or essay by August 15th. The application fee at Calvin College is $35, non-refundable.

This is an institution with an average GPA at of 3.8. In order to secure your admission, your SAT score should be around 1,200. If you are thinking of applying with your ACT score, the average admission score is 26. The acceptance rate at Calvin College is 75%.

If you are planning to apply for an athletics scholarship at Calvin College, you may be slightly disappointed. Their teams reside in NCAA Division III, which means that student-athletes are not eligible for financial aid related to their athletic achievements.
