The cost of tuition fees on studying in France would vary and you should check the information from the university itself. To give you an overview, here are some of the universities in France and their corresponding tuition fees.

The Université PSL or Paris Sciences & Lettres is one of the top universities worldwide as mentioned in different rankings. The school offers a broad range of courses for both undergraduates and postgraduates. For students that are from outside of the European Union (EU), there is an approximate tuition fee of 243 euros.

The Institut Polytechnique De Paris is an outstanding institute for science and technology that is comprised of 5 leading engineering schools in the country. For students who are not part of the EU but would like to study here, they must expect an annual tuition fee of 16,800 euros.

Another well-known research university globally is the Sciences Po. As stated on their website, the fees would vary depending on the program and the tax residence of the student. The tuition fees for undergraduates are within the range of 0 to 13,200 euros, while fees for graduate students have a range of 0 to 18,300 euros.

Being the capital of France, the city of Paris has a lot to offer to international students who dream of having a great international study experience. The city is the home of French universities that are acknowledged in several world university rankings. Aside from this, you will find inspiration through the cafes, museums, parks, and other attractions that you may explore. With this, you should keep in mind that cost of living in Paris may be quite expensive.

It depends on your choice of housing, but there is a range of 900 to 1,800 euros for monthly rent. There are residence halls in universities managed by the CROUS which offers more affordable housing for students. For Paris, there is a monthly rent of around 400 euros. For transportation, there is always the more affordable option of public transport. A one-way ticket would cost you 1.90€, but there is also a monthly pass available which could cost around 75€. For food expenses, it is expected that the prices are higher in Paris compared to other cities. A monthly budget of around 200 to 300 euros for groceries may be needed. Meals outside may be from 10€ to 25€, while more high-end restaurants would cost more.

2. Cost of Living in Lyon

Lyon is said to be the third-largest city in the country, and it is chosen as one of the best student cities to be in France. Aside from universities that have global recognition, Lyon is also home to great restaurants, with it being described as the culinary capital of the country. You will also find a variety of architectural and historical landmarks in this city. Compared to Paris, studying and living in this city would be more affordable.

The range of monthly rent for housing goes from around 650€ to 1,250€. There are also the university residence halls which costs around 200€. For transportation, a one-way ticket would also cost 1.90€, while opting for a monthly pass is only around 65 euros. It is advisable to expect a monthly budget of around 250€ to 300€ for food, but it would probably cost less compared to Paris. A meal in a more affordable restaurant has a range of 11€ to 17€.

3. Cost of Living in Grenoble

The city of Grenoble is found in the southeastern region of the country, and it is known for its cold climate. Here, you will get to enjoy activities like skiing and snowboarding. There are also other attractions, such as food hubs and museums. It is the home of globally recognized universities in the fields of business, engineering, and science.

Just like in other cities, for you to know the cost of living in Grenoble, you can check if Grenoble has university residence halls offerings for accommodations. Within the city center, there is an average monthly rent of around 545 euros for a one-bedroom apartment. You can go around the city through public transport where one-way costs 1.60€. There is also a monthly pass of around 59 euros. The prices for the groceries would be less in this city compared to the capital, but a budget of 200€ to 300€ is expected.

4. Cost of Living in Nice

Nice is another city that is famous to international students because of its incredible vies and attractions. Opposite Grenoble, Nice has the vibes of the Mediterranean, with its sights of the beach and countryside. You will also find ancient ruins that you can explore for leisure time.

The range of cost for housing in Nice is around 900 to 1300€, which is for a single-bedroom apartment space located in the center of the city. Transportation is more affordable, wherein you can avail of a monthly pass that costs around 40€. When it comes to food expenses, you may allot the same budget of around 200€ to 300€. Groceries in other cities of France, like Nice, costs less than in the capital.

5. Cost of Living in Toulouse

The city of Toulouse has also been ranked among the best cities in the country suited for students. It is in the southern region of France, and it attracts students that are in the science and technology field as it is said to be a high-technology hub. Another good thing about the city is there are more affordable options when it comes to living.

For your accommodations, the average monthly rent for a one-bedroom apartment located in the city center is around 600€ to 1000€. You can travel around the city through taxis and public transportation, wherein the monthly pass costs about 50€. The prices for food expenses could be cheaper, but you should allot an allowance to a budget of around 200€ to 300€.
