Lehigh University is a private university located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The four colleges that makeup Lehigh University are P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science, the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Business and Economics, and the College of Education. The university has a total of 5,047 undergraduate students and 1,942 students at the graduate level. In this article, we will be looking at the acceptance rate at Lehigh University.

Bethlehem, Pennsylvania is known for its small-town feel, but there are seven colleges within ten miles of Lehigh University and the university is less than two hours from New York City. Bethlehem was ranked the 27th safest college town in America by Safewise and there are many opportunities for students to be involved in the community both inside and outside the university.

At Lehigh University, there are over 100 different programs of study for undergraduate students to choose from. Since there is a nine-to-one student-to-faculty ratio, students at Lehigh University have the benefit of small class sizes and having more one-on-one time with faculty members. The average class size at Lehigh University is 29 students. Faculty members dedicate a significant amount of time to mentoring students and ensuring students are headed in the right direction in all their courses. There are 542 total faculty members at Lehigh University and over 100 of the faculty members received awards from external organizations in 2017.

Community throughout the student body is a large part of the culture at Lehigh University. 99 percent of the students enrolled in classes also participate in extracurricular activities. There are over 200 student clubs and organizations available for students to join and 25 NCAA Division I intercollegiate sports for both male and female students. You need to be a good student to attend this university because the acceptance rate at Lehigh University is low.

Research is a large part of both the academic and student life side of Lehigh University. When students become a part of Lehigh University, they are offered many opportunities to be a part of research projects at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Some research projects are student-led, but many involve students collaborating with faculty members in order for students to gain the most experience and learn from faculty members in their desired discipline.

Lehigh University also has over 250 study abroad programs available for students who would like to learn from and study other cultures. The university celebrates diversity and encourages students to be open to learning about the cultures that are represented at Lehigh University. Nine percent of the next graduating class at Lehigh University are international students and the faculty, staff, and students come from over 79 different countries.

Acceptance Rate at Lehigh University

Lehigh University has a 26% acceptance rate which means a little over one-quarter of the students who apply are accepted. An online application is required for admission to the university, as well as a copy of the student’s high school transcripts, a letter of recommendation, a mid-year, and a final report from the student’s high school. Both ACT and SAT scores are accepted and only the higher of the test scores will be considered if scores from both tests are submitted.
