1. Federal University, Gusau, Zamfara State
First on our list of universities in Nigeria with a high acceptance rate is the Federal University in Gusau (FUGUS), Zamfara State, which was recently founded in 2013. It is currently the only university in the Zamfara state in the northwest of the country. The university is located in the city of Gusau, which has over 200,000 inhabitants. FUGUS houses three different faculties, the Faculty of Humanities and Education, the Faculty of Management and Social Science, and the Faculty of Science. Next, to its regular programs within these faculties, the university also has a special Centre for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) at its disposal, which offers students support and education on specific topics for them to be able to successfully launch and grow an enterprise after attending university. The specialist topics the CED offers include the production of poultry products, eggs, and chickens for sale and livestock rearing. 2. Federal University, Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State

3. Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun

Founded in 2007 specifically to educate more people to become professionals in the field of oil and gas extraction. Students are able to obtain a bachelor’s degree in a program of their choice under one of these faculties. Students that wish to apply for their first academic year at FUWUKARI are charged an admission fee of 5,000 NGN, which equals USD$14.
6. Federal University, Oye-Ekiti
The next university is the Federal University of Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), which was founded in 2011. The university has two campuses, one located in the city of Oye-Ekiti and the other in Ikole-Ekiti. FUOYE, a Nigerian university with a high acceptance rate, is home to seven different faculties, around 6,000 students, and more than 1,650 faculty members. The faculties that are housed by the university include Social Science, Agriculture, Arts, Engineering, Education, Management Science, and Science. Bachelor’s degrees within these faculties cover various subjects. 7. Federal University, Birnin-Kebbi
Number seven in our top ten universities in Nigeria with a high acceptance rate is the Federal University of Birnin-Kebbi (FUBK) in Birnin Kebbi Kebbi State. The university was established in 2013, along with the Federal University of Gusau (number one on our list). FUBK currently houses four different faculties and over 20 bachelor’s degree programs. The faculties include; Arts and Social Sciences, Science, Environmental Sciences, and Health Sciences. Staff and students can enjoy the sports facilities on campus. The university has a so-called Mini Stadium on campus where different sport games are organized on a regular basis, such as volleyball, football, and badminton.
8. Federal University, Lafia
Moving along, we have the Federal University of Lafia (FULAFIA) next on our list. This university is situated in the state of Nasarawa, in the city of Lafia. The four faculties that offer students bachelor’s degrees are currently; Faculty of Arts, Science, Social Sciences, and the College of Medicine. These faculties give rise to 17 departments in total, including Botany, Creative and Visual Arts, Economics, and more. The university has two campuses, one take-off campus located in Akunza and the main campus in Gandu, near the city of Lafia. On-campus housing is available but some students choose to live off-campus in Lafia, which is the state’s capital and has around 134,000 inhabitants.
9. Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ikwo
As we are closing in on the end of our shortlist, we have come to the Federal University of Ndufu-Alike, Ikwo (FUNAI). FUNAI was established in 2011 and is located in Ndufu-Alike Ikwo in the south-eastern state of Ebonyi. The university has seven different faculties; Agriculture, Basic Medical Sciences, Education, Engineering and Technology, Humanities, Management, and Social Sciences and Science. Next to its regular programs under these faculties, FUNA also offers its students specialist training and support on entrepreneurship and business start-ups in the Entrepreneurship and Employability Centre (EEC). The EEC strives to provide students with skill sets that will enable them to compete and grow in a fast-moving and ambitious economy. FUNAI has been the host of multiple sporting events in the past and offers top-quality sporting equipment and facilities to its students. Accommodation on-campus is available for every student and most make use of the campus housing.
10. Federal University, Dutse
Our final university is the Federal University of Dutse (FUD), which was founded in 2011. The university is located in the city of Dutse, which is the capital of Jigawa State in the northwest of Nigeria. The university is located in the urban setting of this small city, which has an estimated 37,000 inhabitants. FUD operates under the following faculties; Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Faculty of Management Sciences, Faculty of General Studies, Faculty of Science, and College of Medical Science. The university also offers postgraduate programs next to its normal programs. Registration at the university for the first academic year comes with a fee of 4,500 NGN, which is a little over USD$12.
