The University of Akron is one of the most popular public research universities in the state of Ohio. This university is the place to enroll if you would like to pursue a degree in the fields of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. Acceptance Rate at University of Akron

With an 18:1 student-faculty ratio and an acceptance rate of over 90%, getting an admission to the University of Akron appears to be a manageable task. Almost all successful candidates should have SAT scores of 900 or higher, and ACT scores of at least 16. Also, prospective students should have a GPA over 3.5.

Practically, the only reason applicants are rejected an admission is if they lack enough high school credits. However, these applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and, if a particular candidate shows enough promise, they may be admitted into Akron’s Summit College Student Success Program. There, they get qualified help with their college preparation.

Those having pronounced talents in athletics are also encouraged to apply to the University of Akron. The university’s teams are called the Akron Zips. They compete in the NCAA Division I Mid-American Conference. The most popular sports at this university include Track and Field, Football and even Soccer, which is not generally popular across the USA. To apply for an athletics scholarship, you should first be admitted to the university.
