University of California, Berkeley Acceptance Rate

According to data released on the university website, UC Berkeley had an overall admit rate of 11.4 percent for fall 2022. Of the 128,230 applications, around 14,568 students were offered admission. Of these, international students formed 9 percent.

This is a drop from last year, which saw 14 percent of applicants offered admission and is in keeping with the trend of falling acceptance rates over the last decade. The number of applicants has significantly increased over the years. While the number of admission offers and enrollments have also increased this time, it hasn’t been at the same pace, leading to a drop in admit rates from about 21 percent in 2013-14 to about 11 percent currently.

There are also different acceptance rates among the different colleges of the university – Engineering is the most selective with a 7 percent admission rate, while the Rausser College of Natural Resources has the best rates favoring students at 20 percent. Chemistry saw a significant drop to 14 percent from 22 percent in the previous year. Apart from this, the College of Environmental Design has an 11 percent acceptance rate, and the Letters and Science College has a 12 percent acceptance rate.
