University of Miami Undergraduate Scholarships

1. President’s Scholarship Award

It is a merit based University of Miami scholarship for the undergraduate students of first year at the University of Miami. The students with excellent academic record are considered eligible. This scholarship is only for freshmen and transfer students can’t apply. The eligible students are automatically considered for the scholarship after their admission to the university. The selected students are given an annual stipend which ranges from $6,000 to $30,000 per year. The scholarship amount depends on the number of students selected and the availability of funds.

2. Cane’s Achievement Award

It is also a merit based scholarship for the high academic achiever students at the University of Miami. The scholarship is available for all the first year undergraduate students irrespective of their citizenship status. The eligible students are automatically considered, and no separate application is needed. The qualified students are given an annual stipend which ranges from $5,000 to $16,000 per year. The final amount of scholarship is again dependent on the availability of funds and the number of students selected for the award.

3. Stamps Premium Scholarship

It is a premium scholarship available to all the incoming undergraduate students at the University of Miami. The students must be enrolled in a full time undergraduate program at the university to apply for this scholarship. The students with excellent academic record and with the history of participation in extracurricular activities are preferred for this premium scholarship. The students are selected after their participation in scholarship week and interview conducted at the end of the week. The successful students are given a full tuition fee waiver as well as an annual stipend. The students are required to maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.0 or above to keep receiving the scholarship.

4. Isaac Bashevis Singer Premium Scholarship

It is another merit based University of Miami scholarship provided to the undergraduate students irrespective of their citizenship status. Only first year undergraduate students can apply for the scholarship. The students have to submit an essay to the university to be considered for this scholarship. The students are finalized after an interview with the faculty. The selected students are given scholarship that is sufficient enough to cover the entire tuition fee. The students are required to enroll in 24 credit hour courses a year and maintain a CGPA of 3.0 so that they can receive scholarship throughout their stay at the university.

5. President’s Scholarship for Transfer Students

It is merit based scholarship for international undergraduate transfer students at the University of Miami. The students must have a competitive CGPA to qualify for this award. Generally, a CGPA of 3.5 or higher is required to get this award. The students are not required to submit any additional scholarship for the award. The eligible students are informed at the time of admission about the award. The selected students are given an annual stipend of $15,000 in this scholarship.

University of Miami Graduate Scholarships

1. Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowship

This University of Miami scholarships is available for all the international graduate students at the University of Miami. The students must have a minimum CGPA of 3.2 in their undergraduate degree to be considered eligible. This fellowship is provided only to the students with a financial need. The students must show an interest to be a foreign affairs officer at US State Department to get this fellowship. The selected students are given an annual stipend of $40,000. This fellowship is valid for the first two years of graduate study. The purpose of this fellowship program is to provide funding to the students who are willing to join US State Department as a Foreign Affairs Officer.

2. Graduate Assistantship

The University of Miami also provides graduate assistantship to its international graduate students. Only a limited number of students are selected for the assistantship program each year. The students must have a good CGPA and great academic record to get an assistantship. The graduate assistants at the University of Miami are given a tuition fee waiver along with an annual or monthly stipend to meet their financial needs.

Doctorate Scholarships

1. Dean’s Fellowship

This is the best fellowship available for Ph.D.  students at the University of Miami. The Dean’s fellows work as a teaching assistant or research assistant in their department. The fellows are given an annual stipend of $31,450 per academic year in these programs.  Every year, only three incoming first year Ph.D. students are selected for Dean’s fellowship program.
