This university has different museum facilities to ensure access to the public to view art exhibits. Established in 1945, the American Heritage Center is home to an extensive collection of manuscripts and artifacts. Also, it has at least 50,000 rare books in its Toppan Library. At present, the center is preparing the way for the digitalization of historic recordings, photos, and texts. The school’s art museum is home to diverse media from different parts of the world. It also hosts art exhibits from different countries.

The Geological Museum, on the other hand, has a collection of minerals and fossils that focus on the state’s history.  After the infrastructure upgrades in 2013, it opened its doors to the public free of charge. The university also has an Anthropology Museum and an Insect Museum. Aside from museums, the University of Wyoming offers an Outdoor Program for students pursuing individual adventures like white-water rafting, snowshoeing, mountain biking, rock climbing, ice climbing, and backcountry skiing. Participants pay only for the actual trip expenses because student fees subsidize the program. The Center for Student Involvement and Leadership offers different student-centered programs, services, communities, and experiential learning opportunities to complete the academic experience. Moreover, students can join fraternal organizations to build connections with fellow members so that they can grow and develop in and out of the classrooms. Other recognized student organizations also offer opportunities for students to associate freely with others for a common purpose. Student technicians also gain a real-world experience through the university’s laboratory Studio Wyio that hones them in different roles in concert production.
