The University of Texas at Dallas, or UT Dallas, is a publicly funded, research university. In this article, we will be covering the acceptance rate at UT Dallas.

The university is a part of the University of Texas system. The main campus is located in Richardson, with multiple research and learning centers spread across Dallas. It was established in 1961 as a center for research studies in the Southwest. The center was granted to the state of Texas in 1969, making it the University of Texas at Dallas. The university is well-known for its high research output, and, as a result, has been classified by the Carnegie Foundation as a doctoral research university. It is the fastest university in Texas to achieve this status.

Currently, the institution is offering over 140 programs. It has 8 schools and is affiliated with over 50 research units. At the moment, the university has over 27,000 students enrolled, with an average student-to-teacher ratio of 24:1. If you would like to be a part of this University, an important admission metric that you need to be aware of is the acceptance rate at UT Dallas, and fortunately, it is not very high.

There are a number of renowned student organizations on campus, including the chess team, the debating team, the pre-law teams, and sorority houses. The sports teams at UT Dallas are among the best in the US. The baseball, softball, basketball, and women’s cross country teams have had a number of successful seasons. Both the men’s and women’s tennis teams won the American Southwest Conference (ASC) in 2019.

There are also numerous on-campus living accommodation options, comprising of 5 residential halls and over 1,200 apartments. There is a prominent campus culture. Students have hand gestures to signal solidarity. There are important monuments, such as Cecil Green’s Bronze Bust and Love Jack, which are decorated by students. A Ring ceremony is held to honor the university. The students actively engage in promoting charity and LGBTQ+ rights, as well as acceptance for international students.

Acceptance Rate at University of Dallas

Academically, the university falls under the top 2% of higher education institutions globally. ARWU ranked UT Dallas between 201-300; QS ranked it between 421-430; Times ranking listed it between 201-250, and US News ranked UT Dallas at the 231st position. Within the United States, the institution ranks between 71-99 according to ARWU. Forbes has ranked it at 245. US News has ranked it as 129 nationally, and Washington Monthly has placed it at the 99th rank. These rankings clearly establish UT Dallas as a top-tier university nationally.

Certain individual programs at the institute are ranked amongst the best in the country. UT Dallas’ engineering program has been ranked at 64 nationally, the graduate business program ranks at 33, the marketing program is ranked 5th in the country, audiology is 4th, and game design is at 21st. UT Dallas’ criminology program has been ranked 5th in the world.

Admissions at the University of Texas at Dallas are fairly selective. The acceptance rate at UT Dallas is 68%. However, the University of Dallas is considered a prestigious institution and is a popular choice for many in-state and out-of-state students due to its reputation.
