Established in 1834, Wake Forest University is a private North Carolina Institution. Its 340-acre campus is situated in the suburban landscape of the large city known as Winston-Salem. It’s a city close enough to the Blue Ridge Mountains and to the South Carolina beaches that students often enjoy their time off in these recreational centers. Speaking of recreation, Wake Forest University’s sports and recreation organizations are very much active. Students can enjoy offers of outdoor-themed recreational and sports activities such as kayaking, mountain biking, and even sky diving. If you’re into athletics and have a knack for sports or are planning on playing sports at the collegiate level or even pro-level proficiency, then Wake Forest University is a great school to develop your talents. The school hosts 18 intramural sports as well as enjoys an NCAA Division I membership. It’s good to note that NBA’s Mugsy Bogues is an alumnus of Wake Forest University.

There are more than 260 registered clubs and organizations in the university that students can choose from. If going Greek is your thing, then you won’t be out of place in Wake Forest University since about half of the school’s students are members of the 25 Greek Organizations registered in the university.

The university offers 40 majors and 57 minors through its 6 schools. When a student enrolls, they are given the choice to design their own program through the Liberal Arts College or to follow a set path to business degrees such as in accounting, finance, and management. You will need to be a particularly great student who has been near the top in their high school class to join this university since the acceptance rate at West Forest University is 28%.

Wake Forest University also offers graduate studies through their Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, School of Law, School of Medicine, and School of Business. For those who have interests in theology, graduate-level theological studies are also offered through their Association of Theological Schools – accredited programs in the School of Divinity.

At any given semester, enrolment reaches about 8,000 students with 5,000 of these being freshmen. Of the entirety of these enrolled students, more than half are female comprising 54% with the rest of the 44% being male. High-level faculty is very much accessible on the campus with the student-to-teacher ratio being at 11 is to 1. About 60% of the classes have students less than 20 and about 40% have students between 20 and 50.

Housing is not a problem since there are 7 first-year residence halls ready for occupancy inside the campus. Upperclass residences are also available for upper-class students. However, Wake Forest requires its students to reside for 3 years on campus. It is only during their senior year that students are allowed to live off-campus.

Acceptance Rate at West Forest University

Compared to other universities, the acceptance rate of Wake Forest University is low at only 28%. The school is very selective in its admission process. The ACT score average is 30, and the GPA average is competitive at 3.85. To be accepted for admission to this school, you have to have a great high school academic standing.
