Texas Christian University (TCU) was founded in 1869 in Fort Worth. However, due to changes in the area, the founders decided to move the school to Thorp Spring. Texas Christian University is classified as a somewhat selective college, with an acceptance rate of 41%. This means that less than half of the applicants are accepted. The average ACT scores of admitted students range from 26 to 31. TCU requires a counselor’s and teacher’s recommendation, as well as an essay. The graduation rate is above average for the United States, estimated at 75%. It is required that high school seniors that have been accepted to TCU maintain their scores.
